Thank you for the information Chief Belford. I find it helpful and comforting that this is being done. I just worry because I have children who walk to the bus stop at 6:30 a.m.. I drive them in the colder weather and have noticed people actually doing u-turns off of 161 at the corner. Your help is appreciated.

the odot has proposed and will install a turn lane for strawberry farms. this turn is a u-turn on 161 at the bridge over alum creek. there will be a traffic light there to stop east bound traffic that will work in conjunction with the light at 161 and buenes aires. the proposed turn lane and light is projected to be completed by late spring early summer. i hope that in the mean time no one gets hurt by the residents of strawberry farms who are to eager(busy) to follow the detour to rt3 n. back to 161 e. the irony of this is that the residents of strawbeery farms for several years complained about people cutting through their neighborhood to access sunbury rd. they have held several meetings with the city of columbus and finally persuaded the city to install speed regulators in their neighborhood. but when there is a inconvienance of a 2 minute detour to get home they will be the first to cut through another neighborhood and make illegal or dangerous manuevers to do so. hopefully the odot timing for this turn is on schedule and this will be over in june or so. please check back to our website as we will post any info that may change the proposed schedule.

Traffic Problem

The Blendon Twp.Police Dept. is aware of this problem. Cars are making u-turns at your intersection, trying to go back to Strawberry Farms. We have been watching this intersection, and several cars have been issued citations for improper u-turns. We will continue to enforce this area for the duration of the construction.

Rush Hour Turn Arounds

If an officer would monitor this during evening rush hour, not only would it help curb the problem, all the citations that would be witten would pay for a lot of improvements!! Even 2-3 days a week from 5-6 would make a big difference.
