I've lived here 7 years and just now got to wondering how the water company knows how much water I use since my meter is inside.  Anybody know?  Maybe there's a simple explanation, but I can't find it.

Thanks,

Marnie,

if your water meter is in your house there will be a little black box mounted externally on your house that the oawc can plug into that will read your meter in your house. if you have a pit the meter can be in the pit. we have both style here in the ridge.

speaking of ohio american water co.  reminder august 20th 6 p.m. @ 3607 dempsey rd - faith covenant church, is the puco public hearing/forum. this is our last and best chance to make a differnce in the 31.86% proposed rate increase. this is the opportunity that we have worked so hard to get, the opportunity to have input into the increase. we will have a chance to speak. numbers speak volumes also. we need to pack the house.

thank you

I have a pit in my front flower bed and there are numbers visible ( once I clear the dirt off the top) on the top of the device. Is this the only way OAWC can be measuring my water consumption? I only ask because the pit has been buried for the better part of two years and that would make it pretty hard for them to read my meter, lol.

After hearing some of the stories at the PUCO meeting in August I wondered if a class action kind of lawsuit could be brought against this company since they seem to be abusing customers in so many ways.
