What to do with yard Waste due to "Ike"

Please do not call the township office

Neighbors are doing a wonderful job of being great neighbors by helping each other clean up after all the storm damage. Keep it up - you are shining.

Some are wondering what the township will do about the waste. The township's first priority is making sure our streets are passable. Other debris on the street should be cleaned up by us. The township's second priority is cemetery clean up. We are responsible for our own property clean up.

There is good news - if you can load up your debris, you can take it right down to Kurtz Brothers, say you are from Huber Ridge, and they will send you on to dump your yard waste.

Remember, Local Waste will only accept bundles of debris - properly tied up, and not exceeding 4 feet in length.

Lots are still without power, some have suffered serious storm damage. Let's continue to find ways to help each other.

Latest Update - Township help for Sunbury Woods Tuesday 9-16-08 between 9 and 11 a.m. and Huber Ridge between 1 and 2:30 p.m.  Look for township trucks driving slowly in the neighborhood.  If you see a township truck, and your yard waste is at the curb (or easily accessible), stop the truck and load it into the back.  Law does not permit the township workers to load it for you, however, the township will get rid of it for you.  This is the latest information per Stewart Flaherty, trustee, who is trying to help the community recover.

Spread the word - some still do not have power.
