Children: Curfew and Code that Prohibits Playing in the Street

Blendon Township Has a Curfew

Our curfew is as follows:

Teens between the ages of 13-17 may not be on the streets between midnight and 4:30 a.m.

Children under the age of 13 may not be on the streets between one hour after dusk and 4:30 a.m.

If reported and caught, it will be an inconvenience to the parent(s) who will have to get the child. Please do not hesitate to report violators.

Please do not allow your children to play in the street

Ohio Revised Code 4511.50 prohibits playing games: e.g., basketball, football, etc., obstructing or standing on any roadway. The law is not limited to children. It becomes a hazard for drivers and could result in serious injury or death.

Our neighborhood has a school where children can play basketball. If your child is older and can get there on his/her own (with your permission), the Vineyard Church on Cooper Rd. has basketball hoops for their use.

Faith Covenant Church, 3607 Dempsey Road, also has basketball hoops available for use.

Please do not set up hoops on a curb or in your driveway for road use, even if you live on a court. It is against the law.
