Safe Call Program Keeps Seniors Safe

Are you a Senior who lives alone, or do you know someone who is?  If you do, then Operation "Safe Call" is for you!  Eagle Scout Candidate Andrew Fowler, from BSA Troop 192 and the Westerville Communications Center (the same agency who facilitates the Reverse 911 program) are working together to get information out to our community about this LIFE SAVING FREE SERVICE for seniors who live in the city of Westerville and/or Blendon Township.  The Safe Call program has been in place for 22 years, yet many in our communmity are not aware of this service.  It is a worry-free simple connection to help when you need it.  When you enroll in this program, you will receive an automated daily (or regularly scheduled) call at a time YOU specify to ensure your safety and well being.  The service can be turned on or off as needed to allow for travel or family visits.  The goal of the program is to help seniors maintain their independence while giving them and their families the peace of mind that someone is available for them on a regular basis.  If this sounds like something you or a loved one would like to get more information on, please call 614-901-6790.  Please mention this Eagle Scout project by Andrew Fowler when you call (so he can get the credit!)  This Safe Call program has been directly credited with saving lives - isn't yours worth saving??

Andrew Fowler will the guest speaker at the February HRAA meeting on Thursday, February 2nd starting at 6:30pm at the Blendon Senior Center.  He will be talking about his Eagle Scout project with Safe Call, answering questions about the program, so mark your calendars and plan to attend!
