Over the weekend, the Huber Ridge Area Association held a food drive to collect for neighbors this holiday season who may be in need of a little assistance. We know that the state of Ohio is in the process of getting full SNAP benefits to recipients, however, if you have not yet seen those funds hit your account or are otherwise experiencing a shortfall in your food budget, your neighbors want to help.
Tomorrow we will be distributing the food collected over the weekend. Our team has put together 35 bags of food that will be given out during two periods of time. The first will be from 8:30am to 11am and the second will be 2pm to 5pm. The HRAA is sponsoring a drive thru food pick up in Ridgewood Park for any neighbor who needs food for this holiday. We will distribute half of the bags during the morning session and the other half during the afternoon session either during the full scheduled time or until we run out, whichever happens first. Distribution will be on a first come, first serve basis. Since we are not a food pantry, the collected food items have been pre-bagged and we will simply load your bag into the vehicle One bag per vehicle/household.
Again, this event is intended for residents of the Huber Ridge Area only who feel they need some additional help with food this holiday. Verification that recipients are residents will occur so please be sure to bring an ID or some other proof of address. This is simply to assure that this food drive benefits our own community residents.
